For One Life’s 9th Annual Lancaster, PA Softball Tournament

By: Amanda Herr

Every year since 2008, the For One Life organization hosts a softball tournament as one of their biggest fundraisers for the year. This year the 9th annual softball tournament was held on May 27th & 28th at Salisbury Township Park in Gap Pennsylvania and this year Sweetwater Propane was blessed with the ability to be a sponsor for this event.Field & Sign

For One Life is an outstanding organization with the ability to help the less fortunate around the world. In December of 2008, a team from Lancaster County took a trip to Northeast India where they visited a school in the village of Parung. They quickly realized that the building the children were being taught in was not suitable for their needs. The walls were very thin and the building was by far too small for the amount of kids being taught there. After speaking with the leaders of the school, they decided that they were going to build a new facility for the village of Parung. With plans being made already for the 2nd annual Lancaster Softball Tournament in 2009, they decided that the proceeds from the tournament would go towards building the new school building. That began a three year building process in which all the proceeds from the 3rd and 4th annual Lancaster Softball Tournaments were donated as well. The dedication of the new school took place on February 24,2012 and will make an impact on the many generations to come.

NapkinsFor One Life has many projects going on right now around the world such as building a school in the Muolhoi village, which is where the proceeds from this year’s softball tournament went. This project is a Bibles For The World (Partnership Mission) school in the Northeast India state of Assam. Bibles For The World has been running the Muolhoi School for the past several years. The school has been a tremendous blessing to the local community. Recently 5 acres of land was purchased for this new school building which will allow room for a new building and lots of room for a nice playground as well. The two story building will be able to accommodate 800 – 1000 students and will now be able to offer schooling for kindergarten through 12th grade instead of only up to 10th grade. As a result of that more children will be able to go on to attend college and get better jobs.Me & sign

Here at Sweetwater Propane, we believe being active in the community is very important. We want to use our time, talents, and profits to not only bless the community around us, but also communities around the world. By sponsoring this tournament, we were able to do both. We are just one company but we can make a difference in that one life, all made possible by one Life, one Man, Jesus Christ.
